Billy Ray Brock, age 84, of Corbin, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 after battling cancer. Born in Corbin, Jan. 5, 1932, he was the son of the late Isaac and Grace Brock.    

He retired after 30 years of service at General Motors-Cadillac in Detroit, Michigan. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, opening his home to family, and putting smiles on everyone’s faces. He was a proud husband who cherished the memory of his wife’s beauty until the very end. He was loved and looked up to by so many.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Netha Trent Brock of 59 years, daughter Shelia Brock, and four sisters Ellen Smith (Lewis), Lena Blanton (Doc), Mary Burgan (Jerry), Ida Brock, brother-in-law Jack Strandholm, and granddaughter Desirae Ann.

He leaves to cherish his memory by son Isaac Ray Brock (Corena) of Somerset, daughter Michele Denise Cheston (Steven) of Plymouth, MI., sister Cleda Strandholm (Jack) of Cedarville, MI., and brother Howard Lee Brock (Marie) of Macomb, MI. Along by 11 grandchildren Melissa Eaton, Rebecca Walters, Amanda Deal, Billy Brock, Johnny Brock, Zachariah Brock, Steven Dziadzio, Samantha Dziadzio, Sophie Dziadzio, Shelby Cheston, and Hunter Cheston. And 17 great-grandchildren, several special nieces and nephews, and his spouse’s 17 brothers and sisters who loved him greatly.

Funeral services for  Billy Ray Brock will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Trent officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery in Keavy, Kentucky. The family of Billy Ray Brock will receive friends at Laurel Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday evening. Laurel Funeral Home is honored to be of service to the Brock family.
