Donald LeRoy "Pete" Carson was born in Catlettsburg, Kentucky on December  2nd 1930 to the union of the late Charles Edward Carson and  the late Forrest Beatrice Thomas. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Doram Carson who preceded him in death. He was the father of Pauletta Carson of Lexington, Kentucky. He was the brother of Clyde Casteel of East Bernstadt, Kentucky. He was the grandfather of Barrett Sawyers and wife, Polly of Somerset, Kentucky, Rezin Cunnigan and Token Cunnigan both of Lily, Kentucky, Hydro Blaze Cunnigan, Knowledge Borsh and Haylo Carson all of Lexington, Kentucky. He was also survived by two special nieces whom where his caretakers, Peggy Cowan and Margol  Byrd both of East Bernstadt, Kentucky. He was also blessed with several  other nieces and nephews, Barbara Thomas, Shirley Cowan, Wanda Peoples, Bettye L. Clark, Billy Jean Johnson, William Andrews, Donald Ellington, Ronald Ellington, Michael Ellington, Kenneth Ellington, Marshal Ellington and William Ellington. He was also blessed with several other family members, church family and friends to celebrate his home going. He attended Pleasant Springs Church in Keavy, Kentucky and Altamont Church in East Bernstadt, Kentucky. He was the owner of Carson Trucking Company in East Bernstadt, Kentucky and a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Besides his wife and his parents he is also preceded in death by one son, Mex LaRoy Carson, by three brothers, Charles S. Carson, William C. Carson and Robert M. Carson and by one sister, Edna Mae Ellington. Donald LeRoy "Pete" Carson departed this life on Thursday, March 23rd 2017 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky leaving him at the attained age of 86 years, 3 months and 21 days of age. Funeral services for Mr. Donald LeRoy "Pete" Carson will be conducted on Saturday, April 1st 2017 at 12:00 Noon in the Laurel Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Terry Jackson and Pastor Forrester Baker, Jr. and Master of Ceremonies Bro. Jack Riley officiating. Burial will follow in the Carson Cemetery at East Bernstadt, Kentucky with the local D.A.V. in charge of Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Barrett Sawyers, Drew Sawyers, Jordan Sawyers, Ashley Cowan, Travis Cunnigan and William Andrews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hydro Blaze Cunnigan and Token Cunnigan. The family of Mr. Donald LeRoy "Pete" Carson will receive friends on Friday afternoon  March 31st 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Laurel Funeral Home.
