Susan Elaine (George) Weaver

Mrs. Susan Elaine George Weaver, age 63, of Yulee, Florida and formerly of London, Kentucky. Passed away on Sunday evening at the University of Florida Hospital, North in Jacksonville, Florida.

She was survived by her husband, Darrell Weaver of Yulee, Florida. She was also blessed with a host of Aunts and Uncles, other relatives, church family and friends to mourn her passing. She was also survived by her fur babies, Sophia & Max.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Glenna Creech George and by several fur babies. She was a retired secretary at London Burial Vaults in London, Kentucky. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Hedges Baptist Church in Yulee, Florida and Old Salem Missionary Baptist Church in London, Kentucky. Where she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in her heart during revival meetings in 1974. Being a straight “A” student all her life, Susan had a thirst for knowledge. Even though college was out of reach for her. She wanted other young adults to be able to pursue a college education. She had the vital role of Director of the Miss Southeast Kentucky Scholarship Pageant. Over her time as Director, she raised over $500,000.00 in scholarship money to help the young ladies of Southeast Kentucky pursue a college education. Susan wanted to see young adults succeed in life. She had a huge heart for ministry and loved singing at church and being a Sunday School Teacher.

Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Elaine George Weaver will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Thomas and Pastor Donald Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Salem Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family of Mrs. Susan Elaine George Weaver will receive friends at Laurel Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
