Bill Jack Adams, “The Waving Man”, 89, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Otterbein Senior Life Community in Franklin. He was a resident of Nineveh.
He was born on December 11, 1929 in East Bernstadt, Kentucky. His parents were George Adams and Lizzie (Cupp) Adams Thomas. He married Norma Ann George on June 12, 1951. Bill is survived by children, George Adams of Franklin; Tim Adams (Melinda) of Franklin; Doug Adams (Julie) of Franklin and Angela Proffitt (Lamon) of Edinburgh; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving is one brother, Sam Thomas (Lois); sisters, Wanda Bruner (Johnny) and Mary Rose Pennington (Shelby) all of London, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews; He was affectionately known as “Papaw Bill” by many people in Nineveh. He was preceded in passing by his parents; wife, Norma; brothers, Emmett, John M. and Jesse Adams; sister, Louise Boggs Adams and grandson, Chad Adams.
He attended school at East Bernstadt Elementary and London Elementary.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving at Ft. Bliss, Texas.
Bill was employed by Arvin Industries, retiring after thirty-five years of dedicated service.
He was a member of the Nineveh Christian Church and a member of the Nineveh Fire Department
Pastor Tom Knight and Pastor Mike Elmore will conduct a celebration of Bill’s life on Saturday, April 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Nineveh Christian Church, 1261 E. 775 S., Nineveh, Indiana 46164. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the Church. Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
