Ms. Alice Garland Helton, age 65 of Hwy 770, Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday evening at the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky.
She was the mother of Justin Gorsuch, Domanick Cook, Dalton Cook and wife Katie, Jacob Helton and wife, Candace and Sidney Cook all of Corbin, Kentucky. Shasta Cook of Florence, Kentucky, Brittney Reed of London, Kentucky and Joanna Helton and Fiancé, Trenton Phipps of Gray, Kentucky. She was the sister of Matt Garland and Fiancé, Linda Lowe of Gray, Kentucky. She was also survived by her special friend, Joe Roskopf of Corbin, Kentucky. She was also blessed with six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, plus a host of other relatives, church family & friends to mourn her passing. She was of the Pentecostal faith and attended the New Vision Pentecostal Church in Gray, Kentucky. She worked and was a very familiar face for 48 years at the Root Beer Stand in Corbin, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Della Smith Garland, by her brothers, Levi Garland, Duke Garland, Henry Garland and Jerry Garland and by her sisters, Mae Carter, Peggy “Tootsie” Wilburn and Janice McCrystal.
Funeral services for Ms. Alice Garland Helton will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the New Vision Pentecostal Church in Gray, Kentucky with Pastor Kenny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Garland Cemetery in Gray, Kentucky. The family of Ms. Alice Garland Helton will receive friends at the New Vision Pentecostal Church from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
