Amanda Ellen (Roark) Brison

Mrs. Amanda Ellen Roark Brison, the daughter the late Leamon & Flora Brummett Brison was born in Harlan County, Kentucky on July 5th 1929. She was the mother of Reda Faye Johnson and husband, Robert of Mansfield, Ohio, Sharon Kay McAnally and husband, Jerry of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Sandra Julie Lewis and husband, Jerry of Wallington, Ohio, Wilma Kathryn Needham and husband, Charles and Sheila Ann Webb and husband, Raymond all of Corbin, Kentucky and Billie Jean Ostrander and husband, David of Grafton, Ohio. She was the sister of Lucy Roper and Phyllis McGeorge both Pineville, Kentucky and Oma Jean Brock of Tennessee. She was the grandmother of Patricia, William, Diane, David, Amanda, Crystal, Danny, Johnny, Paul, Angel, Cassandra, Kenneth, Pamela, Joshua, Jessica, Olivia, Deanna, Rachel and Lindsay. She was also blessed with several great-grandchildren plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Ellen Owens, by one sister, Mary Lee Roark, by four brothers, C.L. Roark, Lawrence Roark, King David Roark and Ballard Roark. She was a homemaker of the Pentecostal faith. Amanda Ellen Roark Brison departed this life on Thursday evening at the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky leaving her at the attained age of 90 years, 6 months and 18 days of age.

Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Ellen Brison will be conducted on Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Herschel Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky. The family of Mrs. Amanda Ellen Brison will receive friends at Laurel Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. on Monday.  Pallbearers will be Kenneth Owens, Joshua Paul, Brian Chance, Gregory Chance, Donnie Allen and Johnny Miller.
