Official Obituary of

COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS

Funeral Information

Kentucky Funeral Homes Open Safe Plan Requirements from the Governors Office , EFFECTIVE, June 20th 2020:

*Visitations and Funerals are limited to 50% of the funeral homes occupancy capacity, OUR 50% CAPACITY AT LAUREL FUNERAL HOME IS 120 PEOPLE, this does "exclude" Ministers, Clergy and funeral home staff.

*We have been asked to continue the use of live stream social media broadcasts and drive by visitations. We DO offer both these options, but feel out of respect for the deceased they are not a very respectful options, you cannot control viewers (could be people from anywhere in the world watching) from taking screen shots (pictures) of the deceased during the live stream broadcasts. We feel that drive by visitations are putting the deceased at risk for unwanted pictures to be taken from vehicles or just curious people driving by for morbid entertainment. However, these options are the choice of the families we serve and we will do as they request.

*Social Distancing of six (6) feet for people in attendance must be maintained. If we cannot maintain the social distancing requirement of six feet, we have been asked to reduce our occupancy capacity until the six feet requirement can be obtained.

*Our pews in the Main Chapel will be roped off to allow seating in every other pew. We have been asked to try and encourage only people of the same household to set on the same pew.

*We have been asked to encourage NO handshaking, hand holding, hugging and to try to avoid attendees from congregating in close proximity while chatting.

*We have been asked to encourage our Staff, Ministers, Clergy and Attendees to wear face coverings while inside the building. However, this is YOUR own personal choice.
We do have a limited supply of mask available upon request.

*We have been asked to consider and we will be taking attendees temperatures before entering the building and we were asked not allow individuals with elevated temperatures or signs of illness to enter the building. We have a infrared forehead thermometer, so this is a NO TOUCH process and only takes a few seconds.

*We will have a NO TOUCH hand sanitizer station located near the front door.

*We have been asked to only allow ONE (1) person in the restrooms at a time and all frequently touched surfaces be disinfected after each use.

*We have been asked to close ALL COMMON AREAS throughout the funeral home, such as foyers, lobbies, coffee lounge and multi-use rooms until further notice and we should NOT provide communal food or drinks at this time, including water fountains.

We realize these are extremely "different" times we are currently in. We are relieved that we no longer are restricted to ten (10) people in attendance, but we do understand some of these current restrictions are a inconvenience but they are for everyone's safety. We will do everything possible to make our families comfortable and do everything we can to give the exact type funeral service they expect. Feel free to call the funeral home if you have any further questions, 606-523-9300
