Ms. Carrie Mae Brown, age 81, wife of the late Tipton Brown of Ready-Mix Road, London, Kentucky passed away on Monday evening at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was the mother of Bennis Quint Colby Brown of Knoxville, Tennessee, Franklin Tipton Brown and Roberta Lynn Nantz both of Corbin, Kentucky, Richard Napoleon Brown of London, Kentucky and Tonya Sue Woodward of Big Stone Gap, Virginia. She was the sister of Saul Hoskins, Lola Hoskins, Jessie Hoskins and Myrtle Hoskins all of Florence, Kentucky and Ed Hoskins of Arjay, Kentucky. She was also blessed with twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
She was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of the Bee Creek Pentecostal Church in Corbin, Kentucky and attended The Corbin Gospel Temple in Corbin, Kentucky. She was previously a Medication Aid at the Pineville Hospital in Pineville, Kentucky.
Besides her husband, she is also preceded in death by her parents, Richard James and Nannie Shorter Hoskins, also by one sister and three brothers.
Funeral services for Ms. Carrie Mae Brown will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Corbin Gospel Temple in Corbin, Kentucky with Pastor Jerome Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky. The family of Ms. Carrie Mae Brown will receive friends at the Corbin Gospel Temple from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
