Larry Gene Bennett

Mr. Larry Gene Bennett, age 62, husband of Tonya Boyd Bennett of Highway 1232, Gray, Kentucky passed away on Friday afternoon at the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky from complications from COVID-19.

He was the father of Brooke Bennett of Long Pine, Nebraska and Dallas Burnett and Fiancé, Sara Taylor both of Georgetown, Kentucky. He was the son of Janice Streeter of Monticello, Kentucky. He was the brother of Alan Bennett and wife, Pam of Gibbon, Nebraska and Terry Bennett of Kearney, Nebraska. He was also blessed with eleven grandchildren and one on the way. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Jean Bennett. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from AirGas in London, Kentucky where he was the branch manager. 

Funeral services for Mr. Larry Gene Bennett will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Garden’s at Lily, Kentucky. The family of Mr. Larry Gene Bennett will receive friends at Laurel Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The FAMILY REQUESTS that ALL VISITORS TO THE FUNERAL HOME PLEASE WEAR A FACIAL COVERING due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be in the form of planting a tree in Mr. Bennett’s memory by going to the tribute wall and clicking the Plant a Tree icon.
