Mrs. Leanna Woods Smith, age 52, wife of Pastor Ronnie Smith of Powder Mill Road, London, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday morning, April 27, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital in London, Kentucky.
Above all else, Leanna was a devoted child of God. Her life was a beautiful testimony to faith, humility and grace. She faithfully served as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and pastor’s wife, touching countless lives through her love, encouragement and quiet strength.
Leanna was the cherished wife of Pastor Ronnie Smith. Together, they built a ministry rooted in love and service at Restoration Ministries in Lily, Kentucky. She was the mother of Ryan Blackburn (Amanda) of Corbin, Ky., Karlie Joseph (Dominick) of Boone, NC., Meghann Blackburn of London, Ky., Nathaniel Smith of Corbin, Ky., Lauren Lawson (Dylan) of London, Ky., Conner Blackburn of London, Ky., and Makayla Smith of Williamsburg, Ky. She was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Smith.
Leanna was the daughter Betty and Jim See of Louisa, Ky., and David Woods of Fort Gay, West Virginia. She was the sister of Michael Woods (Sabra) of Flatwoods, Kentucky, and Victoria Rosen (Tim) of Springfield, Tennessee.
Her greatest joy was her grandchildren: Judah, Zechariah, Parker, Annie, Hezekiah, and Hazel. She was also blessed with a host of other beloved relatives, her cherished church family, and many friends who deeply mourn her passing.
To know Leanna was to experience the gentle love of Christ. Whether through a word of encouragement, a quiet act of kindness, or simply the grace of her presence, she uplifted and inspired all who crossed her path. Her unwavering faith, humble spirit, and loving heart left a lasting mark on everyone she met.
This loss leaves a hole that cannot be filled this side of Heaven. Yet though our hearts grieve, we celebrate the life she lived so faithfully. Her faith, her love, and her legacy will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know and love her.
If Leanna could speak to us today, she would tell us how wonderful Heaven truly is. She would say that every trial she endured on this earth was worth it to stand in the presence of her Savior. More than anything, she would lovingly urge each of us to make sure that we are ready to meet the Lord, because no man knows the day or the hour of His coming.
“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more.”
— Revelation 21:4
She can’t return to us, but we CAN go to her.
