Leland Leslie Sawyers

Mr. Leland Leslie Sawyers, age 82, husband of Kathern Gross Sawyers of Bishop Street, Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday morning at the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was the father of Joseph Wayne Sawyers and Nella Mae Wilson and husband, Tim all of Corbin, Kentucky. He was the brother of Richard Sawyers and wife, Charlotte of Corbin, Kentucky. He was also blessed with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

He was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith and attended the Dorthae Pentecostal Church of Corbin, Kentucky. He was retired from Baptist Healthcare in Corbin, Kentucky where he worked in the maintenance department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram Logan and Elizabeth Jane Goff Sawyers and by one brother, Albert Sawyers.

Funeral Services for Mr. Leland Leslie Sawyers will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Billy Evans officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon at Laurel Funeral Home. Graveside services and burial for Mr. Leland Leslie Sawyers will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in the Taylor Cemetery in the Blackwater Community of Laurel County.
