Mrs. Lois George Thomas, age 84, wife of Sam Thomas, Jr. of North Mill Street, London, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday afternoon at the Baptist Health Hospital of Corbin, Kentucky.
She was the mother of Melissa Cheek and husband David of Maysville, Kentucky and Dallas Thomas and wife Cindy of Louisville, Kentucky. She was the sister of Glen George and wife, Jewell and Roger Lee George and wife, Vickie all of London, Kentucky. She was the grandmother of Samuel Cheek and wife, Katie of Lodi, Georgia, Aaron Cheek and wife, Samantha of Polk City, Florida, Hannah Shepherd and husband, Adam of Madison, Alabama, Elizabeth Freeland and husband, Charlie of Corbin, Kentucky and Leah Schember and husband, Don of Holly Ridge, North Carolina.
She was also blessed with fifteen great-grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives, church family and friends to mourn her passing. She was a retired Customer Service Representative at Wal-Mart of London, Kentucky. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the East Pittsburg Baptist Church of London, Kentucky.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lois George Thomas will be conducted on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at the East Pittsburg Baptist Church with Pastor Trevor Brummett and Rev. Denny McCowan officiating. Burial will follow in the Ralph P. George Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family of Mrs. Lois George Thomas will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m. at the East Pittsburg Baptist Church on Saturday.
