Lonnie Wayne Sawyers

Mr. Lonnie Wayne Sawyers, age 73, husband of Anita Marie Sawyers of Lynn Acres Road, Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Sunday afternoon at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was the father of Lonnie Sawyers and wife, Regina and Justin David and wife, Kim all of Corbin, Kentucky. He was the brother of Rosetta Wynn of Corbin, Kentucky. He was the grandfather of Jayla David and Fiancé, Jude Caudill of London, Kentucky, Keelan David, Xavier David, Jase David, Blake Sawyers, Bo Sawyers, Eli Sawyers, Aubrey Sawyers and Emmalynn Sawyers. He was the great-grandfather of Miah and Gracelynn Caudill both of London, Kentucky. He was the uncle of Rhonda Beavers and husband, Danny of Corbin, Kentucky. He was the brother-in-law of Angie Quillen and husband, David of Big Stone Gap, Virginia. He was the father-in-law of Heather Allen of Corbin, Kentucky. He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing, He was also survived by his two fur babies, Lacy & Brownie. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from the American Greeting Card Company.

He was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Sawyers, by his parents, Walter and Margaret Young Sawyers, by two brothers, Bruce Sawyers and Wade Sawyers and by one sister, Gail Sawyers.

Funeral services for Mr. Lonnie Wayne Sawyers will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Mounce officiating. Burial will follow in the McFarland Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky. The family of Mr. Lonnie Wayne Sawyers will receive friends at Laurel Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

Pallbearers will be: Justin David, Wayne Sawyers, Eli Sawyers, Keelan David, Blake Sawyers and David Huff.
