Melissa Kay (Weddle) Garland

Ms. Melissa Kay Weddle Garland, age 56 of Cadet Drive, Gray, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday evening at her residence.

She was the mother of Zack Garland and Tyler Garland both of Gray, Kentucky and Vanessa Black and husband, Jessie of Corbin, Kentucky. She was the sister of Chester Weddle of Corbin, Kentucky and Carl Weddle of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. She was the stepmother of Stephanie Rhodes and husband, Reid of Mitchell, Georgia, Adrian Garland and Curtic Garland and wife, Sarah all of Corbin, Kentucky. She is also survived by her best friend of 52 years, Geraldine Nunn of Lily, Kentucky. She was also blessed with eight grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. She was a retired secretary for Envious Properties.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Garland, by her parents, Chester, Sr. and Sandra Cannon Weddle, by one brother, Alvin Weddle and by one sister, Daisy Smith.

Funeral services for Ms. Garland will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kenny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Brafford Cemetery in Gray, Kentucky. The family of Ms. Melissa Kay Weddle Garland will receive friends at Laurel Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday evening.
