Myretta Faye Reeves
Myretta Faye Reeves, age 85 years and 27 days, of Corbin, KY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
Myretta is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert Lee Reeves; two daughters, Sherry Taylor and husband Clark of Lexington, KY, and Debbie Collinsworth and late husband Steve of Georgetown, KY; four grandchildren, Kristy Thomas and husband David of Corbin, KY, Melissa Leger and husband Steven of London, KY, Dr. Robbie Taylor and wife Emma of Lexington, KY, and Kasey Robertson and husband Zach of Corbin, KY; nine grandchildren, Jonathan Thomas and fiancée Kaitlyn Gray, Christopher Jackson and wife Jannessa, Madison Williams and husband Darrell, Ashlee Leger, Keira Taylor, Hayley Taylor, Kaylyn Thomas, Natalee Robertson, and Nathan Robertson; three bonus grandchildren, Rachel McFadden and Aidan and Ireland Craig; four great-great grandchildren, Conner, Camden, Gracie, and Willie Williams; one sibling, Nancy Reeves and late husband Clyde of Corbin, KY; a special cousin, Brenda McFadden and husband Tim of London, KY; and a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lando and Gertrude Black Wright, and one sibling, Daniel “Hamp” Wright.
Myretta was a Christian and member of Horse Creek Road Baptist Church in Corbin and also attended Providence Missionary Baptist in London, KY.
Myretta was a homemaker by trade and loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family, especially her “babies”, who called her Nanny.
Funeral services for Myretta Faye Reeves will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel in Corbin, KY with Rev. David Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Felts Chapel Cemetery in Corbin, KY.
Pallbearers: Robbie Taylor, Jonathan Thomas, Christopher Jackson, Steven Leger, Zach Robertson, and Darrell Williams.
