Pastor Steven Lynn Cole, age 76, husband of Sylvia Cole of Rogers Road, Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday at the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky.
He was the father of Tina Lynn Cole-Shumate and husband, Joe and Kimberly Anne Cole-Wilson and husband, Stanley all of Corbin, Kentucky. Jerry Lynn King and wife, Teresa and Jimmy Lee King all of Keavy, Kentucky. He was the grandfather of Megan Gambrel and husband, Bob, Matthew Lickliter and wife, Jessica, Steven Garrett-Cole and Danielle Robinson and husband, Shylow all of Corbin, Kentucky. Gabrielle Robins and husband, Donnie of Woodbine, Kentucky, Dylan King, Hayley Martin and Payton Stacy all of Keavy, Kentucky. He was the great-grandfather of Liam Lickliter, Jonah Lickliter, Allison Merida, Silas Robinson, Titus Robinson and Elias Robinson all of Corbin, Kentucky, Addison Arnold of London, Kentucky, Denver Williams and McKenna Williams both of Williamsburg, Kentucky and Bella Robins of Woodbine, Kentucky. He was the brother of George Wayne Cole and wife, Kathy of Liberty, Kentucky and Della Anne Rains and husband, Charles of Corbin, Kentucky. He is also survived by his best friends, Don Reedy of Gray, Kentucky and Harold Barton of Woodbine, Kentucky.
He was also blessed with a host of other relatives, church family & friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lorene Warren Cole, by two brothers, Ronnie Cole and Jimmy Cole and by two grandchildren, William Paul Williams and Amber Lynnette Cole.
He was the Pastor of South Park United Baptist Church of Corbin, Kentucky and a veteran of the United States Army.
Funeral services for Pastor Steven Lynn Cole will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the South Park United Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky with Bro. Marty DeRoche and Pastor Matt Ridener officiating. Burial will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, Kentucky. The family of Pastor Steven Lynn Cole will receive friends at Laurel Funeral Home on Friday afternoon from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at South Park United Baptist Church from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has respectfully requested that memorial contributions be made to the Christmas Box Program of South Park United Baptist Church, 102 22nd Street, Corbin, Kentucky 40701
