Patrick Dennis Malley (Sergeant First Class), U.S. Army, 75 of Corbin, KY passed away on 31 March 2026 at Landmark of Laurel Creek Rehabilitation and Nursing, Manchester, KY., from complications of a stroke. Born 19 January1951 in Pittsburgh, PA; he was preceded in death by his loving parents John Joseph Malley, Sr. and Catherine (nee Gannon) Malley, and his brother John J. Malley, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 44 years,
Delphine Gashweseoma Malley and his three sons; Patrick Frederick Malley of Stratford CT, Brian Thomas Malley of Corbin KY, and Dennis Andrew Malley of Corbin KY.
Pat was both a Navy and Army Reserve Veteran. Pat was a Machinist Mate aboard the USS Woodrow Wilson, SSBN-624, a ballistic missile submarine where he made many lifelong friends. He did not re-enlist in the Navy and was a civilian for a few years, he later joined the Active Guard as a Training NCO. During his time with the AGR, he was deployed to Guatemala to help rebuild schools and clinics after Hurricane Hugo; and later helped guard inmates at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He never complained about missing Christmases, Thanksgivings, anniversaries, birthdays, graduations; he considered this his duty to God and Country.
Pat had a quick wit and was an avid reader of American, Irish, and military history' he was always in the need to learn more. He was a kind and compassionate man to those who knew him well. Sometimes he would go for a walk and return with a stray cat or come home from work with an unwanted dog.
The family is asking for solitude during this time of sorrow. Please consider in lieu of flowers, to donate to the Salvation Army food drive, or your local Humane Society so that the most overlooked of God's Children will not go hungry.
