Rev. Marion Kenton Parkey, 79 of Brodhead, passed from this life on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Baptist Health Hospital in Richmond. He was born in Corbin, KY on June 6, 1945 the son of Marion Burton and Wilma Gibbs Parkey. A graduate of Humbolt High School in Humbolt, TN and a 1967 graduate of Johnson Bible College, he had been a minister for 52 years and was pastor of Bank Lick Christian Church in Covington was pastor of Wildie Christian Church for 38 years. He was a member of First Christian Church of Mt. Vernon.
He is survived by his children: Scott Parkey and wife Kristy of Campbellsville, and Jaime Parkey of Brodhead; three grandsons: Noah Parkey, Rex Parkey, and Caleb Smith; and a brother, Doug Parkey of Brazil, IN and his three children: John Parkey and wife Valerie, Mark Parkey and wife Amber, and Ramey Rowe and husband Doug. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Terry Louise Parkey; an infant sister, Teressa Parkey; and a sister-in-law, Karen Parkey.
Funeral services for Rev. Parkey will be conducted Wednesday, September 4 at 1:00 PM at the Dowell & Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky with Bro. John Parkey officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Irvine. We ask that you please respect the family’s private visitation time prior to public visitation hours beginning at 11:00 AM Wednesday.
