Shirley Jean (LaFlame) Gibson

Mrs. Shirley Jean Gibson, age 82 of Hwy 1223, Corbin, Kentucky wife of the late Robert Lee Gibson, passed away on Tuesday morning at her residence.

She was the mother of Carolyn Gardner and husband, Philip of Corbin, Kentucky. She was the grandmother of Bradley T. Robertson of Corbin, Kentucky. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, Leora, Liana, Hunter, Elijah, Delilah and Thadius Robertson. She was the sister of George LaFlame of Albion, New York.

Besides her husband, she is also preceded in death by her parents, George and Catherine Welch LaFlame, by one brother, James LaFlame and by two sisters, Rose Hills and Ruth Wooten.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Jean Gibson will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky with Bro. Herschel Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky. The family of Mrs. Shirley Jean Gibson will receive friends at the Hopewell Baptist Church from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m.
