Funeral Information

Mr. Starlin Skinner Shafer, age 88, husband of Mildred Evans Shafer of Douglasville, Georgia and formerly of Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday afternoon at his residence in Douglasville, Georgia. 

He was the father of Brenda Shafer of Douglasville, Georgia, Donna Marlin and husband, Doug of Marietta, Georgia and Troy Shafer and wife, Sheila of Georgetown, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clem and Francis Dunn Shafer and by eight siblings. He was of the Southern Baptist faith and a Ohio National Guard Veteran. 

Funeral services for Mr. Starlin Skinner Shafer will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Corn Creek Cemetery in Woodbine, Kentucky. The family of Mr. Starlin Skinner Shafer will receive friends at Laurel Funeral Home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 12:00 Noon.
