William Ray Burchett

Mr. William Ray Burchett, age 75, husband of Penny Elaine McCreary Burchett of Hwy 770, Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, April 14th 2020 at his residence.

He was the father of Kimberly Goss and husband, Curtis of London, Kentucky and Cynthia Watkins and Fiancé, Lonnie Bowling of Corbin, Kentucky. He was the brother of Susan Pitman of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Lucy Harr and husband, John of Wheelersburg, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond O. and Virginia Means Burchett, by two brothers, Bo Burchett and Steve Burchett, by one sister, Geraldine Burchett.

He was of the Catholic faith, a former welder for P&P Construction. He was also a Veteran of the United States Army and the Commander of The American Legion Post 88. He was blessed with seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. 

Due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic in April his visitation, funeral and burial services were private. Now, that some of the restrictions have been lifted the family is having a Graveside Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18th 2020 at the Calvary Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky with the American Legion Post #88 in charge of Military Honors.
