Ms. Zola Mattingly, age 88, wife of the late, Carl Mattingly of Rooks Branch Road, Keavy, Kentucky passed away on Saturday morning at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Corbin, Kentucky.
She was the sister of J.G. Hamblin and Herbert Hamblin, Jr. both of Keavy, Kentucky, Roy Hamblin, Charles Hamblin and Peggy Rose Pope all of London, Kentucky, Dewey Hamblin of Lexington, Kentucky, Nora Lewis and Opsie Penny Cutt both of Somerset, Kentucky. She was also blessed with several nieces and nephews, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. She was of the Baptist faith and attended the North Corbin Missionary Baptist Church. She was a sales clerk at the former Gold Circle Department Store.
Besides her husband, she is also preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Alma Couch Hamblin, by one brother, Moses Hamblin and by one sister, Lou Ellen Hall.
Funeral services for Ms. Zola Mattingly will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Hamblin officiating. Burial will follow in the McHargue Cemetery in Lily, Kentucky. The family of Ms. Zola Mattingly will receive friends at Laurel Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
